Andrea E. Nelson
Attorney
Andrea is an experienced family law attorney with over 14 years of experience. Andrea is a zealous, compassionate advocate for her clients. Clients rely on Andrea when they need a strong negotiator and litigator when involved in complicated financial matters and complex, emotional custody disputes. Prior to joining Koiles Pratt Family Law Group, Andrea was a Partner at a prestigious Boston law firm where she devoted her practice to divorce and family law matters for over 8 years. Andrea has proudly been recognized as a “Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch.”
Andrea is able to navigate complex, high net worth, and often emotional, domestic relations matters from inception to conclusion to achieve the best results possible for her clients. Andrea prides herself on providing compassion and understanding to her clients who are going through one, if not the, most difficult times in their lives. She strives to remove some of her clients’ stress by guiding them through the complexities of the law and court process with dignity, and with candid discussions of realistic, favorable results. While Andrea is a skilled communicator and negotiator, she is also not afraid to litigate a matter in court or in alternative dispute resolution if she believes her client can get a better result in doing so. Andrea has a reputation of solving complex, highly contested issues and is well known and respected by judges and attorneys throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Since being admitted to the Bar in Massachusetts in 2009, Andrea has exclusively focused her practice on family law matters, including divorce, paternity, child custody and parenting time issues, support, modification, and contempt matters. Andrea has appeared before judges in the Probate and Family Court in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Plymouth, Briston, Worcester, and Hampton counties.
Prior to joining Koiles Pratt Family Law Group, Andrea was a Partner in the Domestic Relations Group at a mid-size full-service Boston law firm where she practiced for over 8 years. Before joining the Boston firm, Andrea practiced family law at two boutique family law practices in New Jersey and Massachusetts. Andrea also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to a Family Law Judge in New Jersey from September 2009 to September 2010.
